Self-care is not selfish.
Self-care is not just a day at a spa although that would be wonderful.
It is emotional, physical, psychological, and spiritual health.
Self-care is my word for 2021
Every year I select a word that I use to exemplify my goals and priorities for the year.
The past two years I have used calm and simplify,
As a caregiver I have been placing some of my needs last.
Doing so its beginning to take a toll.
I know better!
I know if I do not take care of myself I will eventually have trouble taking care of my loved ones in need.
Yet despite knowing, I choose to put myself last.
I have been doing that for a long time.
It has become a habit.
But habits can be modified.
So I hired myself a coach, a health and wellness coach. I will be working on my emotional, physical, psychological, and spiritual health.
I am not waiting for the new year. We started this week.
This is not a new year’s resolution. It a lifetime resolution.
What is your word for the new year?
HartFelt wishes that you take care of yourself so you can take care of others in times of need.
